Who is Eligible?

Eligibility criteria for housing may very and depends on the program and funding sources. Generally, individuals experiencing homelessness, have a history of mental illness, substance use disorder, or other challenges that impact their housing stability may qualify. Individuals with steady income seeking safe, affordable housing with some community support, you could be a good fit. We look at each person’s situation to see what works best.

What does shared housing look like at Rise Up ILP?

It’s a living arrangement where individuals share a home or apartment while receiving supportive services to help them maintain housing stability and achieve their goals. It’s about providing a community environment for individuals facing homelessness, mental health challenges, or other obstacles to stable housing and can feel supported. Participants enjoy private or shared rooms, share common living spaces, together, with plenty of chances to connect and build meaningful relationships.

How are roommates matched?

Roommate matching is often based on factors such as compatibility, this includes support needs and shared interest. Program staff may conduct interviews and assessments to determine the best fit for each individual, taking into account preferences and potential conflicts.

Are pets allowed?

Currently we do not allow pets. We understand the importance of companionship, so we encourage fostering connections with other participants.

Is shared housing affordable?

Shared housing is often designed to be affordable for participants with rent typically set at a percentage of their income or based on a fixed rate. Additionally, participants may be eligible for housing subsidies or vouchers to help cover the cost of program fees.

What supportive services are offered in shared housing?

Supportive services typically include, case management, assistance accessing resources involving benefits, healthcare, coordination of care with other providers, community events, and life skills training. The objective is to assist participants in addressing their needs, gain skills, and achieve independence.

What amenities are included?

While we do not provide personal care or meals we do provide a range of essentials to support comfortability. Amenities vary based on the property and program. Common amenities may include furnished bedrooms, shared living spaces, bathrooms, kitchen, laundry facilities, outdoor areas, and nearby or close to on-site supportive services.

Is shared housing safe and secure?

Yes, shared housing is designed to provide safe and secured living environment for participants. Rise Up ILP implements safety measures such as security protocols, staff oversight, and regular property maintenance to ensure the well being of program participants.

Is this an Assisted Living?

No, it is not an assisted living facility. We offer independent share living, which means participants must be able to care for themselves and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with being part of a supportive community oriented home.

How long can individuals stay?

The length of stay varies depending on individuals needs, program requirements, and available resources. Some programs may offer short-term transitional housing, while others provide longer-term support with the goal of helping participants achieve housing stability and independence.

How can I apply or refer someone?

To apply individuals typically need to contact the program provider directly or be referred by a social service agency, human service agency, healthcare provider, or community organization. The application process involves completing an intake assessment, providing documentation of eligibility, and participating in an interview and screening. The intake assessment can be completed directly on the website.

Do you provide housing for families?

At this time we do not have housing available for families or women and children. Our program is catered to single adults. We recommend contacting local social service agencies, homeless shelters, housing authority, or community organizations.

Do you help with rental or utility assistance?

No, unfortunately we do not assist with rental assistance and/or utility assistance.

Do you offer refunds?

All program fees paid are non-refundable. We will do everything to accommodate participants needs and make the necessary referrals to other providers/community resources if we are not a good fit.
